“Brenda’s American History” looks at Brenda Brown, a southern who migrated from North Carolina to Bronx, New York in the 1970s. Without a traditional education, Brown built her career from the ground up, overcoming adversity, while working and retiring from the Federal Reserve Bank.

The provided imagery and short film are related to the Hodder Fellowship proposal because this offers a first look at what the project will look like. With the benefits of the Hodder Fellowship, I will be able to refine and scale the production of the film and photography by funding a team for pre-production, production, post-production, and print production. This will then lead to collaborations with museum or gallery institutions, publications, and photography organizations.
